![]() Belas Clube de Campo course Spreading among the hills, the Belas Clube de Campo course offers an excellent view over the Sintra mountain range as far as Pena Palace and, on the south bank of the River Tagus, Cabo Espichel. Designed by the renowned golf architect William 'Rocky' Roquemore, the Belas course, situated between Belas and Queluz, is set perfectly in the Carregueira mountains. The course is divided into two very different sections: the first crosses a naturally preserved landscape; the second runs past some houses that are part of the complex, and has been complemented by the planting of one thousand trees. There are two holes notable for their beauty and challenging qualities: the second hole, a par 5 called Augusta, was built in homage to the 13th hole of the world-famous Masters course; and the 18th, a memorable par 4 finish christened 'The Big Hole' because of the challenging approach stroke players must make to the green, which is well protected by an intimidating lake. ![]()
